I Finally did it!

 I got round to setting up a blog post! Can't promise I'll be very good at it, but will give it a good go :)


Writing isn't one of my best skills, come to think of it,I'm not sure what is, But hey ho, let's give it a shot!
Now, what to make my first blog all about!
Thinking I will tell you a bit about me, if you're following me on Facebook & reading this, you may have wondered at some point 'What's this Sam person all about?' Then again, it may have never crossed your mind! Either way, Here's a little bit all about me :)



Born in the East End of London (In the same area as the Olympic's are being held, Stratford!) I grew up in and around the East End. I met my wonderful husband when I was only 14, we were engaged when I was 18, and married by the time I was 19! Still blissfully happy after 28 years together, and 23 years of marriage. We have 3 girls, Ellie, 22, Jherelle almost 20 & Maddison, 17. Oh, and don't forget the baby, erm I mean Dog, my 'lil man, Rags!

I studied as a Nursery Nurse after leaving school, and have always worked with children. But, my love for design was overtaking my love for working with children, and I always dreamed of having my own little furniture business, but for now, looking after children was paying the bills.

8 years ago, we decided to move to Spain to give our girls a better life. Wow, how wrong I could be! Probably the worst move we have made, but hey, you learn from life's experiances, and after nearly 4 years of living there, we came home, and could't have been happier!

Whilst living in Spain, I did start to make over furniture, my passion! It was VERY hard to find cheap furniture out there, something I never thought we would have a problem with, but it really was a struggle to source anything! But, the touchpaper was lit, and I was ready to get started!

When we got back to the UK, we took some time out on another business we were running at the time. We built that up, sold it, and then started with our furniture venture.

Whilst sourcing & upcycling furniture, we found it almost impossible to buy beautiful appliques to use on our furniture. We hunted high & low, and decided, Why not make them ourselves!
So, Our Vintage Mouldings were born!


Just over a year later, we have hundreds of designs, more on the way, lots of colour choices, Local distributors, a flourishing eBay store, and a website in the making. Not bad for a years work!


My husband & I are relaunching the furniture side of our business. As I type, we have a studio filled with painted projects, and some still waiting to be painted. We have almost completed our 'Staging' area, and will be photographing this weekend. Can't wait to show you our huge range of beautifully Franch Chic furniture!

What else can I tell you, I love conspiracy theories, Hate ALL soap operas, 
Love films, Faves include Grease (Childhood film!) Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, Man of the Moon, Evita, The Trueman Show, All the Disney films (My kids childhood memories!) I could go on!
Music, I LOVE the Foo Fighters, INXS, Bruce Springsteen, Fun Lovin' Criminals,George Michael, Take That, Chilli Peppers, Pink, I work with my music on all day, LOUD!

Well, thats my first blog post, please let me know if it was OK, Or pants! I will make an effort to do this on a regular basis, It's not as daunting as I thought it was :)
I will post lots of before, during & after pics of our furniture, and keep you up to date on our new appliques :)
